Job Description
Reporting to the Manager of Procurement and Risk, this role provides support in the management and administration of the corporate procurement function.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for public procurement, purchase orders and support for staff.
- Assist with the bid process including meetings, issuance, closing, evaluation and awarding of quotes, tenders and RFP’s.
- Assist with external, multi-departmental requirements of member municipalities.
- Promote procurement strategies, scopes of work, specifications and scoring.
- Maintain records and documentations on all solicitations with vendors.
- Assist Users with electronic bidding platform.
- Vendor administration in the Finance System, maintaining current records.
- Administer Asset Disposal Policy providing support to stakeholders and buyers.
- Coordinate posting of all surplus items and asset pickup from county facilities.
- Assist with administration of the Risk Management program as required.
- Diploma or degree in a technical or business discipline or related field or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Minimum of one-year purchasing experience, preferably in a public sector.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements relating to public procurement and contract management.
- Experience interpreting contracts, tender specifications, market condition reports and ability to conduct research.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with internal and external clients.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and / or related software.
- Professional purchasing designation and completion of Principles of effective Public Purchasing Certificate Program from the Ontario Public Buyers Association, or willingness to complete.
