Then you are exactly who we’re looking for.

First, a little about us.  Founded in 2010, LondonFuse is a local non-profit organization located within 121 Studios (formerly Novack’s).  Our purpose is multifaceted: to create, curate, and promote London’s music, art, and culture scenes through community involvement and our online publication; as well as to provide volunteer and training opportunities to individuals in written content, photography, videography, and other new media disciplines.

Many exciting things are happening at Fuse right now, including the construction of a brand new website and plans to extend our influence online and in the social media space.  This is where you come in.

Thanks to a Job Creation Partnership (JCP) project grant provided by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities (MTCU); LondonFuse is hiring three new employees on contract for 10 months - ending March 31, 2017.

These project members will work under the supervision of the Online Operations Manager to perform tasks necessary in the retooling of LondonFuse’s online presence.  This is an incredible opportunity to gain invaluable training & experience in all facets of internet publishing.

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Graphics Artist/Project Marketer, is to design and produce visual and marketing communications material for promotion of our organization, our website and its content, as well as our social media platforms.  Collaborating within the project team, this individual will make recommendations on and develop concepts, create designs for both digital and print, advertising material, presentations, and more.  This role will require working on several projects simultaneously; so time management and organizational skills are mandatory.  Additionally, this position will entail ideation, creation, and implementation of online marketing campaigns through platforms such as Facebook and Google.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating original digital/visual content for social media platforms, graphics/infographics for content, and visual ad campaigns for both offline/online purposes

  • Assist in the development of creative ideas and provide recommendations and concepts for marketing support material, including, but not limited to posters, handouts, advertisements, mailers, email blasts, web banners, etc.

  • Design and produce effective marketing results from concept to final production

  • Proof-reading for errors and maintaining a high standard of quality

  • Work closely with the project team to develop and implement successful online marketing strategies and ongoing optimization to maximize traffic, improve user experience, enhance positive branding, and increase engagement

  • Provide ideas, feedback and recommendations for social media development and campaigns

  • Stay abreast of changes and innovations to online marketing

  • Incorporate emerging trends into your designs, and continue developing personal skillsets within your design toolkit

  • Create written content for publication as required – Strong writing skills are mandatory

  • Assist in the creation of professional documentation using Adobe Illustrator

  • Attend regular staff meetings and provide constant communication with project team

  • Document project progress, daily activity logs

  • All other duties as assigned by management

    Qualifications:

  • Degree related to Graphic Design and/or Multimedia Design

  • Prefer 2-3 years of professional experience, but will consider exceptional applicants who have none. (new grads)

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator and Photoshop)

  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram) and the ability to use/learn social media tools such as Hootsuite

  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong personal portfolio

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated critical thinker who is able to work independently and as part of a cohesive team, with minimal supervision

  • Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback from superiors

  • Effective deadline management and project management skills

  • The ability to work well and build cooperative relationships with people at all levels

  • Demonstrates integrity and positive ethics
