Job Description
3M is seeking a Technologist for its Materials and Application Testing team located in London, ON. The successful candidate will make an impact by prioritizing and coordinating tape testing requests from Product Development, R&D, and Manufacturing teams, consulting with application engineering teams to develop test methods for customer applications, and optimizing and maintaining instrumentation capabilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prioritizing and coordinating material testing requests (providing functional work direction to tape testing technicians)
- Support the Application Engineering team for customer testing to optimize the instruments (programming, maintenance, etc).
Basic Qualifications:
- Technology Diploma or Science Degree from accredited College or University
- Analytical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated software knowledge (MS Office)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Collaborative personality style
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical skills
- Instron experience, force/strength measurement testing, caliper exposure an asset
- Proficient in basic lab skills, with experience in sample preparation, data management, and maintaining records of experiments
- Familiarity with analysis and statistical methods would be beneficial
Travel: In this role, you will be required to travel less than 5% of the time. A valid driver’s license is required.
