Brescia University College (www.brescia.uwo.ca), a Catholic university college affiliated with Western University, is Canada’s only women’s university providing instruction to over 1,600 students. Brescia is seeking a dynamic individual to fill a position as:

                                               Learning & Development Specialist,
                                   Experiential Education and Community Engagement
                                                                              (Permanent full-time – $39.75 per hour)

The Learning and Development Specialist, Experiential Education is responsible for creating, implementing, and assessing Brescia’s holistic Experiential Education model, which is grounded in outcomes-based learning, high impact practices, and Brescia’s mission as a Women’s University.

Brescia’s vision for Experiential Education is that it demonstrates excellence in teaching and learning and is pivotal in achieving an actively engaged student experience.  Experiential education emphasizes the link between Brescia’s competencies, Brescia’s mission as a women’s university and the essential skills students required for future success. The Learning and Development Specialist, Experiential Education plays a critical role in the delivery of quality experiential education by: establishing Brescia’s experiential education strategy; strengthening partnerships with industry, community, government, and alumnae to promote Brescia’s programs and students; expanding experiential learning activities in alignment with Brescia’s strategic plan; implementing necessary policies, procedures, practices; and enabling faculty, staff, and student involvement in experiential education at Brescia.

The holder of this position reports to the Interim Academic Dean and works closely with faculty and many departments across campus to integrate experiential education throughout the institution, both curricular and co-curricular.

Qualifications include, a four (4) year degree in adult education, public administration, Community Planning or related field. A Master’s degree in adult education/educational administration would be considered an asset.
Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in Experiential Education in a post-secondary environment or industry context; in particular, experience related to project management, policy development, building effective cross-sector partnerships.
