Job Description

Steelway Building Systems is a privately owned Canadian company that manufactures steel building systems for use in industrial, commercial, agricultural, recreational and institutional applications across Canada, the northern United States and around the world. Founded in 1976, it has steadily grown over the last 40 years while taking pride in the quality of their work. Today Steelway is the major manufacturer of building systems in Canada.

*This is a contract position covering maternity leave 14 - 16 months.
 

Organization Relationships 

  • Incoming calls from clients, prospective clients, suppliers, district managers, shipping companies and building consultants, engineers and/or architects
  • Most frequent contacts in this position include customers, sales and marketing staff and other company staff 

Accountabilities 

The Project Administrator/Receptionist is accountable for the following:
  • Order entry of Steel Building Systems and Exsteel orders
  • Manage change orders as per customer requirements
  • Manage reports in a timely manner and input data into systems
  • Provide administrative support to other departments
  • Respond in a knowledgeable and professional manner to incoming calls within a busy office environment
  • Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail and courier packages
  • Input and update files on a continuous basis
  • Preparing new employee orientation packages
  • Comfortable working independently and able to make decisions with little or no supervision
  • Other duties as required and assigned, including special projects as they arise
 

Responsibilities 

The Project Administrator/Receptionist is responsible for performing the following: 
  • This position requires working with a minimum of supervision and direction to complete the normal secretarial and receptionist duties
  • The incumbent has to establish priorities for carrying out related duties in concert with departmental objectives and established policies and procedures
  • To ensure all related duties and functions are carried out in a timely and accurate fashion
  • To assess the appropriate Steelway representative to deal with the caller


Functional Skill Requirements:

ABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail is critical to this role
  • Good knowledge of computers and related software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • Post-Secondary school diploma in Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role
