JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Role              DIRECTOR, FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIONPART-TIME, 24 Hours per week
Reports To    CEO
Location        Tillsonburg, ON

 
Summary Of Duties                                                                   
 
This is a permanent part-time position averaging 3-days (24 hours) per week, with required flexibility to grow to 4-days per week as business requirements evolve.  There is flexibility with the scheduling of the work arrangement (e.g. these hours may be worked over the course of 3, 4 or 5 days per week), which may appeal to parents who wish to work inside school hours the majority of the time.  Please be advised additional time may be required during peak periods.

The Director, Finance and Administration holds a key leadership position at Bossy Nagy Group (BNG).  Reporting to the CEO, the Director, Finance and Administration is responsible for the following functional areas:  Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources Administration and Office Administration.
As a member of the executive team, the Director, Finance and Administration will contribute to the strategic direction of BNG.  This role will ensure BNG has proper financial controls, effective technology strategies and sound administrative processes to support the continued growth of the firm. 
 

CORE DUTIES*                                                                                                         

 
FINANCE
  • Develop and execute financial strategies, policies, procedures and controls to achieve business objectives
    • Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance through strong financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, control and risk management
    • Develop and implement appropriate financial and management information systems, reports, internal controls and analysis to safeguard BNG’s assets and guide business decisions
    • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
    • Oversee the accurate compilation of all required Financial Statements and reports, including monthly and year-end statements, tax returns and government remittances, in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and government guidelines
    • Serve as a resource to the executive team on financial matters
    • Assist with the financial evaluation of new business initiatives as required
    • Comply and remain current with all regulatory reporting requirements
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
  • Working with the Manager, Information Technology and HR Administration, oversee the planning, sourcing, implementation, monitoring and ongoing management of BNG’s technology infrastructure to meet current and emerging business needs
  • Develop and implement technology strategies, including the planning and selecting of appropriate hardware and software solutions to meet the needs of the firm
  • Ensure BNG’s technology systems operate smoothly and efficiently, assuring high performance, consistency, reliability and scalability of the firm’s technology to meet growth and performance objectives 
HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION
  • Working with the Manager, Information Technology and HR Administration and BNG’s Human Resources consultant, oversee the accurate and efficient implementation and administration of Human Resources policies and programs to support business requirements
  • Oversee the payroll process, ensuring team members are paid accurately, on time, and in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Remain current with existing and emerging employment legislation and ensure BNG’s policies and programs are administered in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the Health and Safety practices of the firm and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards and controls
OFFICE ADMINISTRATION
  • Establish and manage all vendor / supplier relationships, negotiate contract terms and administer approved contracts within established terms, including:
    • Insurance, banking, technology and other service providers
    • Premises and leasehold matters, utilities
    • Office equipment and supplies
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for all administrative matters relating to the smooth and efficient operations of the company
 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES     
                                           
 
 
Skills and Experience Attributes
  • University Degree in business administration or management
  • CA, CGA or CMA designation in good standing
  • 8+ years experience in senior management roles including Finance
  • Proven track record of financial management and legislative oversight
  • Strong project management skills and experience
