Our client, located East of London, is currently seeking a highly competent and experienced Health and Safety Environmental Manager.
 
Job Duties:

• Develops and implements occupational health and safety and environmental systems, processes and policies, procedures and safe work (SWPS) to meet all legal requirements responsible for maintaining the CSA Z1000 OHSMS and ISO-14001 Environmental Standard Requirements.
• Ensures OHSE compliance with company and government regulations and reporting
• Responsible for ISO-14001 Internal Lead Auditor activities and customer environmental reporting
• Responsible for WHMIS/MSDS system including inventory and reviews and approves any new chemical substances to be used in the workplace (MSDS)
• Co-ordinates employee RTW/ WSIB and ensures internal reporting and advises Director Human Resources
• Coordinates and ensures accident investigation. Incident reports, and First Aid is accurate, and coordinates employee Return to Work with Plant Manager, Group Leader and JHSC.
• Coordinates physiotherapy rehabilitation as required and RTW work hardening programs.
• Advise Engineering and Maintenance Group on OHSE, P-SHSR and Ergonomic Projects
• Company contact for MOL/OHS,WSIB. MOE and various safety groups
• Responsible for On-Site Contractors Due Diligence, approval and records keeping system
• Recommends corrective measures and continuous improvement as required.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

• Min 5+ years of Health and Safety Environmental Management
• Min 3-5+ years of Manufacturing experience ( Automotive industry preferred )
• Related education and experience as an Industrial Electrician, working in Automotive, Construction or Maintenance, and or a strong understanding of Automotive Robotics and operations. Required
• 6 Sigma Blackbelt – asset.
• Education in Ergonomics- asset
• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Certified or in progress – asset
