BairdHR is currently recruiting for a full-time permanent JR Accountant. Position is in Mount Elgin, ON.

The JR Accountant provides direct support to the Accounting Manager. Activity focused on Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable but the person will gain more exposure and responsibility in time.

Responsibilities Include:

• post inter-company accounts payable invoices
• post 3rd party accounts payable invoices with purchase order & receipt matching
• accounts payable reconciliations to sub-ledger & vendor statements
• verify supporting documentation, coding of employee expense reports & posting AP
• biweekly payment runs for CAD & USD vendors
• maintain accounts payable filing system
• coding invoices from chart of accounts for various cost centers
• apply payments received from customers
• call customers regarding outstanding balances
• enter bank account entries at month end
• send customer statements when needed
• weekly cash reporting
• SAP software use
• ad hoc duties as required (could also include purchasing and payroll activities)

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years experience in Accounting related activities
• Detail-oriented work completed within deadlines
• Strong accounting background
• Team player
• Effective vendor and customer communications

Compensation package is competitive and wage will be determined based on experience.

Standard hours of work are 7.30am-4pm Mon-Thursday and leave at 3pm on Friday.
