Job Description
Accounting Supervisor
Crawford Packaging is a leading distributor of packaging supplies and packaging equipment. Headquartered in London, Ontario with branch operations in Brampton and Waterloo, Crawford serves the Ontario market and is making significant in-roads into the US and Mexican markets.
With significant growth over the past 5 years Crawford is looking to bolster its success and add to the Finance Team.
This position requires a thorough, accurate, detail oriented person with multi-tasking capabilities who consistently demonstrates good judgment in setting priorities and problem-solving. Meets deadlines that are often tight and follows written and oral instructions with limited supervision. The ideal candidate must be willing to quickly adapt in this fast paced and flexible environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversight of the accounting department
All functions of the month End cycle
Accounts Payable
Tracks and reconciles fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Banking (Foreign currency transactions)
Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Expense Account Analysis
Audit Working Paper completion
Tax compliance – prepares and files
Education and Experience:
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting
2 – 5 years supervisory experience
Post-secondary education
Skills:
Can work in a complex, multi divisional company
Strong analytical thinker
Organized with the ability to create structure.
Strong team player with the ability to make decisions.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations
Strong PC software skills including Excel, Outlook
Ability to interact well with a variety of staff at all levels and establish a respectful, trustworthy rapport.
Reporting directly to the Controller.
