Job Description

Area of Accountability:  Programs, maintains and troubleshoots PLC controls and Robotic equipment. Addresses, organizes and implements engineering changes to equipment and upgrades documentation.  Conducts standard and preventative maintenance to equipment.  Supports process improvements and Kaizen initiatives.
 
Major Responsibilities:
 
  1. Programs, maintains and troubleshoots PLC programming software and related electrical controls.
  2. Installs, programs, and maintains robotic and automated welding equipment.
  3. Completes standard maintenance on pneumatic circuits.
  4. Repairs jigs and fixtures.
  5. Conducts routine maintenance on all types of robots including Kawasaki, Motoman etc.  
  6. Evaluates current equipment to monitor necessity for upgrades to PLC hardware and robotic controls etc.
  7. Maintain and repair building equipment including air compressor system, water treatment system, lighting etc.
  8. Work with contractors as necessary to implement new equipment or modify existing equipment.
  9. Meets with vendors as necessary to keep updated on new technology.
  10. Support and develop process improvements and Kaizen activities.  
  11. Demonstrate an understanding of FIO’s Environmental Policy and participate in programs that enhance environmental performance.   Identify and communicate any potential non-conformances.
  12. Demonstrate an understanding of the significant environmental impacts of your work activities; follow work instructions to ensure positive environmental performance is sustained.  Understand the consequences of delineating from them.  
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Robotic Technician certification, Manufacturing Technology diploma or Millwright/Electrical trade certification.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical experience.
  • Strong communication skills including written and verbal.
  • Sound judgment in decision making and establishing priorities.
  • Proactive and oriented to make improvements in systems and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.
