Material Handler - Day Shift

We are looking for a self-motivated Material Handler to join our team. If you are a hardworking individual who can complete tasks successfully with little to no supervision, then we are interested in you. In this position, you will be responsible for storing, moving, documenting deliveries, managing materials and monitoring supplies.

In addition to having excellent written and verbal communication skills, our ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate adequate physical fitness. You will also possess in-depth knowledge of various warehouse machinery and equipment.

This role is ideal for an individual with a background in moving, preferably in a family-operated, manufacturing environment. We are looking for an energetic, hands-on professional who demonstrates their commitment to quality through their day to day work ethic.

What you’ll be doing

• Ensure raw material is supplied timely as required to appropriate melting furnaces
• Provide assistance in relocating materials and work in process between work stations as required
• Provide assistance during the heat-treating process as required
• Ensure products are packed and shipped in accordance with requirements as outlined on the Packaging and Shipping Instructions
• Ensure shipping documents are prepared correctly and directed to the appropriate area for storage and retention
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconforming product to process and quality management system
• Identify and report any problems relating to the product, process and quality management system
• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
• Verify the implementations of solutions
• Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency has been corrected
• Assemble containers, crates and boxes, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
• Loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against purchase orders or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
• Unpack and route goods to appropriate storage areas
• Perform other duties as required
