POSITION: Transportation Patrol Summer Student (Competition #2026-06)
LOCATION: Public Works Department – Transportation Division (Highland)
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Temporary Full-Time (May 4th, 2026 – September 2nd, 2026)
HOURS OF WORK: Monday -Thursday, 6:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. (40hrs/week)
REPORTING TO: Patrol Foreperson
UNION AFFILIATION: Non-union
WAGE: 2026 summer student rate: $21.05/hr

WHAT WE OFFER:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Traveling throughout the County. General labour tasks, using grass trimmers, traffic control (flagging), road maintenance, sign repair, washing vehicles, cleaning the shop, removing debris (animals) from the roads, and painting. Working indoors and outdoors required.

- To be considered for a student position, you must currently be enrolled on a full-time basis at a post-secondary institution, and be returning to a post-secondary institution on a full-time basis in the fall of 2026.
- G2 or G driver’s license and clean driving record

- You are currently enrolled on a full-time basis at a post-secondary institution, and will be returning to a post-secondary institution on a full-time basis in the fall of 2026
