Full-time, Permanent
St. Thomas, Ontario (Talbotville rural location)

Position Summary
Purchasing Administrator’s primary responsibilities will be to work with the Purchasing Coordinator to order and track the purchasing of production supplies; ensure on hand inventory meets demand; and follow up with suppliers regarding issues of quality or quantity. This role is responsible to identify / resolve any supply chain issues from suppliers while also performing purchasing related analytics to drive better decision making and improve efficiency. This role reports to the Purchasing Coordinator.       
    

Job Description/ Responsibilities
  • Request quotes from vendors to get the best possible prices on materials or services as required
  • Analyze inventory needs based on set minimum inventory and maintain set levels.
  • Create and submit purchase orders.
  • Track purchase orders to ensure on time delivery.
  • Ensure all information regarding purchases is documented and filed according to accepted practices
  • Maintain purchasing and inventory tracking spreadsheets, and update relevant databases with receipt of materials.
  • Coordinate the delivery schedules with the cooperation of the warehouse departments.
  • Monitor on hand inventory levels of production materials and supplies.
  • Follow up on issues of quality or shipment quantity discrepancies with the supplier.
  • Manage and communicate any changes in the purchasing of materials to the appropriate parties.
  • Cycle counting of inventory
  • Provide product, storage and order information to all internal departments as required.
  • Make alternate arrangements in the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize impact on the organization.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements
  • demonstrated understanding of supply chain and logistics concepts and theories.
  • ERP user experience an asset.
  • Working experience in agriculture an asset.
  • 1-2 years in purchasing role an asset.
  • Excel skills a must
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, and interpret goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to develop alternative solutions

Physical Location / Working Conditions
  • Greenhouse environment in rural area
  • Full time Monday to Friday- hours to be determined
  • Must have own reliable transportation

Wage:  Competitive pay based on qualifications and experience
