Note: This is a vacancy for a Temporary Full-Time position with an anticipated end date of March 2027 (16 months).
Payband: The position is paid at Payband H, $37.34 - $43.18 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Services, the incumbent is responsible for providing general accounting support to the Financial Services department including the preparation of financial statements related to externally funded college initiatives, assisting in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger system(s) and the preparation of year end binders and schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyzes and prepares financial statements concerning externally funded college initiatives and programs for reporting to ministry and other external agencies in accordance with contractually established timelines

Ensures the data integrity of the financial records, monitors the college's adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and to the College's Financial Information System (CFIS) provincial financial consolidation reporting guidelines

Provides assistance in the preparation and analysis of other periodic financial reports, schedules and special projects

Provides assistance in the preparation and analysis of year end schedules and in responding to external auditor questions and inquiries

Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Post-secondary 2 year diploma in Finance, Accounting or Business

Equivalent education may be considered

Current enrollment in an intermediate level of the CPA accounting program leading to a professional accounting designation

Minimum 3 years’ experience in the preparation of financial statements for a multi-faceted organization

Experience gained as a team player in a service oriented office environment

Experience using computerized financial systems and software packages including Microsoft Office suite
-
Experience with Workday or other similar ERP system would be an asset
-
Experience in an educational or public sector environment an asset
-
Excellent organizational skills, detail orientated, and ability to meet deadlines

Demonstrated ability to work independently
-
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
