Vice President, Pharmacy Services
 
The Vice President, Pharmacy Services provides support and works collaboratively with the appropriate Member Committees, is responsible for the execution of strategic initiatives relative to the Pharmacy portfolio to ensure best value is delivered to Members, grows membership and builds and maintains senior level relationships with stakeholders including industry, government and Members.

Duties and responsibilities

Sourcing
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of  the Pharmacy portfolio business plan and budget
  • Oversee and approve the scheduling and planning of all Member pharmacy initiatives and priorities
  • Responsible for the development and administration of pharmacy contracts
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and processes with respect to contracting, product selection and assurance of supply.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Provincial and Federal regulations and Medbuy Policies and Procedures in establishing contracts for Pharmaceuticals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders – Members, Suppliers, Regulators
  • Responsible for the management of Member and Supplier performance relative to the terms of contracts
 Management
  • Responsible for the visioning, strategic planning, financial management and human resources management
  • Orientation, education and transition of new Members into the Medbuy environment
  • Implement Corporate policies and major initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relations with key Corporate stakeholders
  • Provide input on policy and procedure updates/changes
  • Participate in senior management meetings
  • Member of the Executive Leadership (ELT) and Senior Leadership (SLT) Teams
  • Participates in the strategic direction of the organization
  • Ensures that daily operations  meet Corporate mission, vision, values, strategies, goals and objectives
  • Provide Leadership and direction with a focus to integration and collaboration across the company
  • Reports to the President & CEO
 Qualifications 
  • Education – Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Eligible for Ontario College of Pharmacists licensure (OCP)
  • Experience
    • 5 years in procurement of pharmaceuticals
    • senior management experience in an institutional healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated proficient communications skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated organization/time management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement and drug licensing regulations
  • MBA (preferred)
  • Bilingual (preferred ) 
Working conditions
  • Normal office environment, located in London, Ontario
  • Travel related to Member Committee meetings, Member site visits, Pharmacy Professional development events,  and in support of Medbuy business development activities
