Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Director, People Services or designate, the intern will assist in the planning, organization, and execution of the file digitization project within People Services and perform administrative tasks within the area. In addition, the intern will collaborate with members of the People Services team to assist with special projects and tasks within the area which will involve clerical duties, research, event support and providing customer service.

Work Performed:

  • Convert hard copy personnel files to digital format by reviewing and scanning the information.
  • Maintain the utmost confidentiality when handling a variety of sensitive information.
  • Open and distribute incoming regular and electronic mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information internally and externally.
  • Answer telephone and direct inquiries for response.
  • Record and prepare minutes of meetings.
  • Collaborate with members within the People Services team and assist with various projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

One year Office Administration certificate.

Experience:

6 months – 1-year related experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality customer service.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting.
  • Strong organizational, project management and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to problem solve is an asset.
  • Required to lift 20-pound boxes

Compensation & Other Information:

$21.78/hour

This posting is for one (1) temporary full-time up to 15 weeks position.

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Work Arrangement: On-site. Subject to change in accordance with business requirements.
