The Cineplex Digital Media division of Cineplex Entertainment Limited Partnership currently has an opening for the position of Data Centre Operations Analyst, reporting to the Manager Technology Operations, Cineplex Digital Media. This position will be based out of our Cineplex Digital Media office located at 369 York Street in London, Ontario OR our Waterloo office at 137 Northfield Drive W, Waterloo, Ontario.
 
This position is involved in the planning, implementation, support, and maintenance of CDMs technology infrastructure, networks, security requirements, products and disaster recovery plans to ensure that a highest level of system availability and security is provided for our customers. Specifically, this position provides tier four support and manages vendors associated with infrastructure elements including support contracts and licensing. This position is required to work off and extended hours at times to complete regularly scheduled maintenance programs and recover from systems failures.

Position Accountabilities:
  • Provide day to day Tier 4 support to internal and external customers. This includes trouble shooting and problem solving technical product problems and technology issues and escalating bugs and other concerns to the Technology team where appropriate.
  • Ensure that the CDM Disaster Recovery Plan is documented, functioning and capable of supporting fail-over with 24 hours and manual fail-over with 1 hour controlled.
  • Ensure that CDM has data center security in place that is sufficient to mitigate contract breach or loss of business due to security threats.
  • Maintain file server security. Audit application, file and database production services to determine if access is limited and appropriate. Harden server operating systems where necessary.
  • Provide Tier 4 support to corporate IT as required.
 
Job Specifications:
 
Minimum Education
  • University or college degree in a relevant discipline such as computer operations, networking etc.
 
Minimum Experience
  • 5 years’ experience with increasing responsible systems infrastructure, networking, security, DB, and technical operations management support roles supporting business critical high availability environments.
  • 5 years’ experience in advanced virtualization and Linux operating environments with focus on core infrastructure planning and support, capacity management, and change management.
  • 5 years’ experience in directly supporting DB server environments

  • Expert level technical skill set and ability to trouble shoot complex problems within critical time lines.
  • Hands-on experience, analyzing performance data including system logs and application dumps
  • Continuous improvement mentality and ability to apply technological solutions to mitigate risk and save company resources.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices related to security, performance, and disaster recovery
  • Strong practical knowledge of ITIL methodologies in reference to capacity, change, and release management
  • Comfortable working under the pressures of a rapidly changing, technically complex environment
