The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is a multi service, non-profit values-based charity that serves Windsor-Essex, Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent, London, Middlesex-Elgin, Huron-Perth, and Oxford counties. As we continue to grow, we have a need for the following position:
Position/Term: Health & Wellness Program Coordinator

Location:             Stoney Creek Community Centre, YMCA & Library (920 Sunningdale Rd East N5X 0H5)

Start Date:          October 2022

Compensation: 36,400 plus benefits

Qualifications & Experience:
  • YMCA Fitness Leadership Certifications Group Fitness
  • Personal Training Certification is an asset
  • 2 years of post-secondary education in Physical and Health Education or 2 years of related experience
  • Current First Aid/CPR
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • YMCA Trainer of Trainers Certification is an asset
  • Current and acceptable Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening is a condition of employment for all staff and volunteers.
  • It is a YMCA of Southwestern Ontario requirement that all employees and volunteers be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Exemptions will be granted upon receipt of acceptable proof of a permissible Human Rights Code ground.

Schedule:
  • Shifts include Day, Evening and Weekends
Responsibilities:
  • YMCA of Southwestern Ontario policy and procedures.
  • Act as a YMCA ambassador, demonstrating YMCA core values in your daily work.
  • Reporting to the Manager of Adult Health and Wellness, the Coordinator participates as a member of the Health, Fitness team. 
  • The core function of this position is program planning and implementation, customer service, staff and volunteer recruitment and training. 
  • Training and mentoring Group fitness team to deliver excellence in customer experiences and quality service
  • Coordinate day-to-day staff schedules
  • Program development and delivery
  • Assist in developing Group Fitness & Coaching schedule
  • Develops and implements member & staff engagement activities
  • Maintains all stats for Group Health and Wellness team
  • Provides direct leadership in programs and classes
  • Ensure branch policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Work Duty Manager shifts
