Autodata Solutions has an opening for a Software Architect to join their growing London, ON team!

Position Overview:

As an Architect, you are responsible for creating, defining, and documenting the detailed architecture approach for assigned projects.  You must interpret the functional and client business requirements to create an efficient and technically sound solution (the Architecture Design Document) and must convey that solution to the delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect solutions for multiple projects or programs, while ensuring alignment to current and developing enterprise architecture
• Develop and complete Architecture Design Documents tailored to each project that the architect is assigned to.
• Design enterprise architecture with feedback on updated business, data and system views as well as refinements to important enterprise architecture standards
• Probe and sign off on any business and technical requirements created by others, synthesize them and ensure they are solidly understood and embodied in final product/solution designs
• Generate models and prototypes to keep the users, development team and all other stakeholders current and in agreement as software and systems evolve 
• Perform cost benefit analysis to determine the best methods or approaches for meeting internal and external technical requirements making maximum use of already developed components
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to development and implementation teams

Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines
• Minimum of 10+ years work experience in a software development department focused on developing technology for external customers 
• Minimum of 5+ years experience leading or mentoring full size team of developers
• Extensive knowledge of Java/J2EE application servers as well as web servers such as Tomcat & Apache
• Well developed professional presentation and written communication skills with a customer service orientation
• Full project scope experience: design through to development, testing, implementation, deployment and sustain
• Occasional travel in both US and Canada a requirement
