Obsolescence Management
Our client, a large defense manufacturer in LONDON, ONTARIO is looking for a contract Obsolescence Management associate to join their team
Required Qualifications
• University Degree or Engineering Technologist Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Advanced computer skills in MS office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Superior oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrate ability to work and participate within a team environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to travel and possess/able to acquire a valid passport
Job Responsibilities
• Conduct system, sub-system & components obsolescence management for LAV vehicles
• Pro-actively monitor/screen bill of materials for obsolescence based on technology lifecycle, diminishing material supply, supplier's production cycles
• Monitor the alerts from GIDEP, Q-Star, Total Parts Plus and OEM's which specify the parts and products that the manufacturers are discontinuing
• Prepare and co-ordinate ED&D engineering estimate (ROM's) to resolve obsolescence issues
• Write various obsolescence management reports for internal and external customers by indicating availability status of each component and assembly
• Work closely with R&M Engineering and R&O to develop sparing quantities through-life support of vehicle fleets
• Create and maintain a comprehensive database of electronic and mechanical components to be monitored for obsolescence
• Investigate alternate sources of supply for obsolete materials
• Coordinate communication across departments including Engineering Design & Development, Program Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Engineering, Production Delivery & Support, Financial and Obsolescence Management
