Job Description

PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS 
 
The School of Adult and Continuing Education at the G.A. Wheable Centre requires Permanent and Temporary English as a Second Language Instructors. 


Temporary Instructors are to replace permanent employees on short and/or long term leaves of absence and summer programming.  They must be prepared to deliver the program provided for single day absences and prepare lessons for longer terms.
 
Qualifications for Temporary Position: OCELT(formerly TESL Ontario Accreditation), non-TESL Ontario accredited instructors would have some form of recognized certification other than the TESL Ontario Certificate of Accreditation  (such as the OCT AQ ESL, TESL Canada, CELTA, DELTA).  Evidence of prior training in the Canadian Language Benchmarks or willingness to complete the CLB Bootcamp.


If you have a minimum of an undergraduate degree, including formal training in Adult ESL instruction and an awareness and sensitivity to cultural and sociological issues please consider this position.  Experience with the delivery of educational programming, ideally with adult learners, is an asset.

RATE OF PAY: $29.41 per hour, for non-Members of the Ontario College of Teachers, plus 4% vacation pay

$37.30 per hour, for Members of the Ontario College of Teachers, plus 4% vacation pay
START DATE:  2019 September
DEADLINE DATE: 2019 July 15
