Job Description
Production Shift Supervisor
Our client is recruiting for a Production Shift Supervisor to join their team. This position is a contract with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all organizational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations
- Fully participate in Plan and complete all required safety assessments
- Organize department and employees through delegation of assignments based on qualifications, skills and abilities
- Provide direction, training, tools and materials to employees to carry out their duties safely and efficiently
- Ensure all employees receive necessary training on the safe use of equipment, machinery and tools
- Monitor all employees’ use of equipment, machinery and tools to ensure the same if being utilized safely and properly
- Assist employees as required to ensure tasks are completed in conformance with productivity and quality standards
- Initiate and/or participate in performance management, progressive discipline and investigations as necessary
- Refer to weekly work plans and assign work for each machine making sure proper part identification and shop order is provided
- Promote ‘Continuous Improvement’ by providing visible, sustainable and measurable enhancements in the areas of safety and productivity
- Resolve quality issues arising internally or generated externally
- Take corrective action to eliminate any potential quality issues through the analysis of work operations, quality records and customer complaints
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly plans are developed and implemented to meet production requirements and ensure on-time delivery
- Complete daily administrative duties i.e. Time Sheets, Absence Slips, etc.
- Generate reports and track trends i.e. Safety, Cost, Quality and Delivery using programs such as Excel, Word, BLIS, and Power Point
