 Permanent Full Time Position         

Job Description:
 
The Corporate Information Systems department at Trudell Medical Limited is preparing for a vacancy in the IS department due to a pending retirement. As Director, Information Systems you will manage the Information Systems for the Trudell Group of Companies,
reporting directly to the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. This position will contribute to the general business planning regarding technology and systems required to maintain the Trudell Group of Companies operations and competitiveness. This department has the overall responsibility for the Information Systems environment for all of the Company's subsidiaries.
 
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Information Systems
  1. Provide support and guidance to all information Technology employees in all Operating units of the Trudell Medical Group of Companies.
  2. Determine appropriate placement of resources to maximize efficiencies in meeting the overall needs of the Trudell Group of Companies
Security
  1. Set security policies for all operating units of the Trudell Medical Group of Companies.
  2. Ensure appropriate security layers are proactively managed and monitored on a continuous basis.  This will include firewall, email, Active Directory and malware detection, remote access.
Database Administration
  1. May be required to set up database maintenance on all SQL servers.
Project Management
  1. Manage IS project development and implementation.
Strategic Planning
  1. Develop IT strategic direction for the Trudell Group of Companies.
Supervision
  1. Manage a department of 10 employees

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • University degree in Computer Science or Business
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience.
  • Extensive experience and ability in trouble shooting, maintaining computer software and hardware
  • Working knowledge with the implementation and maintenance of networks, VPN, ERP and desktop applications, SQL Server and Check Point Firewall,
  • Excellent problem solving and project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and follow-up.
