Job Description

We are an automotive parts manufacturer seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the afternoon or midnight shift.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Responsible for all maintenance functions on the shift including repairs, installation, modifications and lubrications.
  • Assigns work to people taking into consideration urgency of repairs, machine schedules, safety, costs of repairs and its effect on production.
  • Follow-up work assigned to Associates to monitor procedures, material availability and coordination and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Review new ideas, plans and procedures with superior to continuously improve maintenance performed on plant and machinery.
  • Support maintenance related training initiatives and provides leadership in the maintenance department.
  • Work with production and quality staff, including Supervisors, to resolve installation and repair problems.
  • Supervise and train Associates on the repair and maintenance of various equipment.
  • Establish repair and maintenance scheduling priorities in order to meet production deadlines.
  • Liaison with outside contractors as necessary and ensure the timely completion of projects.
  • Evaluate workmanship and ensure that all work orders are completed satisfactorily and in a timely manner.
  • Develop and support continuous improvement initiatives in all areas of the department through Kaizen and 5S.
  • Organize and maintain a filing system for equipment and maintenance functions.
  • Preparation of job evaluation forms, which measure the performance and contributions of production Associates while ensuring good moral, coaching, and positive reinforcement of Associates’ efforts.
  • Maintain the P.M. and improve as required.
 
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Post secondary education in a maintenance related field.
  • Previous Supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing/maintenance field.
  • Must be a certified Millwright, Electrician or Programmer.
