Cheshire is a non-profit organization that has dedicated over 35 years to meeting the attendant service needs of seniors and individuals with physical disabilities in London and five surrounding counties. With Cheshire’s Supportive Housing, London Outreach and Senior’s Supports for Daily Living programs, we assist adults with physical disabilities and frail seniors to live independently in their communities through the provision of personal support services that are mutually respectful and value the contributions of all. 
 
With the expansion of our business, Cheshire will be adding on five Team Assistants to support our Team Leaders and Personal Attendants in London. 
 
Title/Status: Permanent full-time
Location:  London ON
Starting rate:  $16.78/ hr + benefits
Shift:  35 hours/week, some weekend shifts are included in a four week rotation
 
Areas of responsibility include:
  • Assisting preparing the Personal Attendants and Outreach consumer schedules, assisting with the development of training schedules and orientation of new staff
  • Assisting in notifying staff and consumers of schedule changes
  • Clerical duties as assigned including typing, filing, photocopying, preparation of staff meeting agendas and typing of minutes
  • Preparing purchase orders for contracted services
  • Compiling and verifying statistics as needed/assigned
 
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to demonstrate through third party testing, intermediate level proficiency operating a personal computer using word processing, data base and spreadsheet programs
  • Well-developed communication skills with a strong ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Ability to balance and prioritize in a very fast paced, ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work hours and shifts as assigned 
  • Understanding of attendant service needs of Cheshire consumers
  • Physically able to carry out responsibilities of the position
  • A valid driver’s license, insurance and access to a vehicle for work purposes is required
