Job Description
Presstran Industries, a division of Magna International located in St. Thomas, Ontario, has developed an enviable reputation as a supplier to the automotive industry known for the high quality of its product and the excellence of its service. Presstran's lines of automotive stampings and welding assemblies are used in front motor compartments, underbody structures, truck frame components and front and rear suspensions as well as non-automotive applications
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Millwright contributes to the safety and efficiency of production operations by regularly inspecting, repairing, modifying and maintaining equipment and machinery as required minimizing downtime.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Must be a licensed Industrial Millwright.
2. Equivalent to completion of specialized courses normally taught in community or specialty college consisting of more than 2 academic years.
3. Industrial experience considered an asset.
4. Own tools required.
5. Skill gained by experience - over 3 years and including 4 years.

EQUIPMENT and/or PRODUCT FAMILIARITY:
Equipment: Various industrial machinery/equipment, various hand tools, aerial work platforms, forklift, crane
Product: Various lubes/oils
Software: MP2
RESPONSIBILITY AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The maintenance mechanic (millwright) independently carries out work orders/directives, using written/graphic/verbal instructions, provided by the maintenance supervisor/leadhand. The mechanic also carries out requests by department supervisors on off shifts where no maintenance supervisor is available. The mechanic requires good communication skills to exchange/collect information. The position may require the incumbent to work in confined/awkward positions with exposure to elements such as noise, temperature, or heights. The incumbent generally provides their own tools as necessary to perform duties.

DUTIES:
- Repairs/maintains/inspects/modifies designated machinery/equipment.
- Notifies supervisor/leadhand of replacement parts/fluids as required for preventative maintenance and/or repair.
- Participates in the training of apprentices as assigned by Leadership
- Completes PM as assigned by Leadership
- Ensures all guards are in place.
- Uses proper safety equipment on aerial work platforms at or above 9 feet.
- Flexible to work on many projects simultaneously, able to prioritize. Be flexible and open to changes in assignment to provide support to other areas of the department.
- Ability to operate production equipment, as required.
- Takes part in the continuous improvement process to improve productivity and quality (provides suggestions, participates in problem-solving, volunteers on committee or focus group activities, etc.) and focuses on solutions.
- Ensures the on-going safety of machines before and after repairs
- Reviews concerns and problems from previous shifts.
- Assists other maintenance trades as required.
- Ensure that repairs made meet all standards of work requirements and are completed quickly and efficiently
- Follows and adheres to requirements of current customer quality and environmental management systems standards
- Uses Maintenance Reliability Manager Maintenance Program
