What's an Employment Support Worker?
The Employment Support Worker will provide job coaching support to individuals with disabilities in a variety of work settings. Reporting to the Director of Intensive & Vocational Services, this position will support our clients to reach the full of extent of their potential capabilities.
What’s the role?
- Provide on the job support services inclusive of guidance, intervention and mediation, as well as employer training and evaluations
- Support clients in their placements at various jobs, including during evenings and weekends when necessary
- Assist employer to provide feedback to client and support teams
- Complete all assigned documentation to comply with standards of the program
Do you fit the part?
- Do you have 2-3 years experience working with individuals with disabilities?
- Do you have experience with training, intervening and mediating techniques in a variety of different worksites?
- Are you able to work effectively in a multi disciplinary team?
- Is your schedule flexible, and are you available outside of standard business hours?
- Do you have thorough knowledge of job coaching principles, theories and techniques, as well as current labour market trends and employment preparation skills?
- Are you a multi-tasker with fine tuned organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication skills?
- Do you hold a valid drivers licence and are available for work-related travel?
