Job Description
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivering skill building programs through ABA techniques
Collecting and tracking data
Graphing and summarizing data for review
Preparing program materials
Supporting individuals with their support needs across the day
Working Relationships:
To maintain a positive, supportive relationship with all staff, participants and volunteers.
To advocate to ensure that the dignity and rights of persons with disabilities are advanced.
To adhere to all policies of the organization to ensure a safe and supportive environment for participant.
To gain trust and confidence with coworkers and the business community.
To contribute as a team member to the overall mission of the organization and the goals or objectives of the team.
To respect and adhere to confidentiality in all communications with others.
Participate in staff meetings or committee meetings and other events of the organization as required.
Participate in an annual performance evaluation.
Participate as a positive team member engaging in professional development as required.
Reporting on a regular basis to the Manager of Community Services.
Safety:
Maintenance of fire, safety and health conditions in compliance with Workers' Compensation, WHMIS, other legislation and Hutton House policies.
The correction of any offences or concerns identified by the Health and Safety Committee; reporting promptly on any physical or health condition that may affect employees, participants, or volunteers.
Responding to emergencies and completion/submission of accident/incident reports on a timely basis.
To maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment.

Other duties as agreed upon.
JOB CATEGORY: September 2018 to March 31, 2020, Part time 22.5 hrs per week
Job Requirements: A minimum of a 2-year college diploma or university degree in Education, Social Sciences, or developmental disabilities (Autism & Behaviour Science Graduate Certificate). Previous work experience with adults. Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis and individuals with intellectual disabilities. Knowledge of writing and implementing Skill Acquisition Programs through a discrete trail training and natural environment teaching approaches. Strong ability to think on the spot and respond to the needs of the client. Computer Skills using Microsoft Office Software; driver’s license and required insurance; First Aid & CPR.
JOB SUMMARY: Instructor Therapists work directly with adults in the provision of applied behaviour analysis services across the day in natural settings to increase skills and decrease challenging behaviours of transition-age youth and young adults 18+ years of age. The goal is to assist in learning skills that will promote the individual’s goals determined through a person-centered planning approach. Quality of life and support needs will be measured.
