Maintenance Manager – St. Marys ON
Solis Foods Corporation Inc. is a leading manufacturer of high quality snack inspired foods for both in- home and out-of-home consumption. Our state of the art manufacturing and distribution facilities, located in St. Mary’s, Ontario and Calgary Alberta and Sunrise Warehousing Company 3PL Distribution Facility in Brantford Ontario, service clients with the mission of ‘providing the highest quality products with exceptional service and great value for its customers’. This position is out of our St. Marys location.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of production equipment, plant facilities and mechanical assets with specific reference to fixes, replacement and installation of new machinery as well as preventative maintenance on existing assets. Other duties may include budgeting for and raising capital cases for consideration by senior management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Equipment / Maintenance

  • Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all mechanical/plant assets
  • Responsible for maintaining and completion of preventative maintenance schedules for equipment/assets

Supervisory

  • Interviews and hires maintenance employees
  • Responsible for supervising, training, developing and communicating daily with employees
  • Responsible for performance management of direct reports
  • Ensures productivity goals are achieved

Communication

  • Contacts and interacts with Solis customers, suppliers and internal company stakeholder on a regular basis

Inventory

  • Ensuring equipment, facility and assets lists are kept up to date and maintaining and monitoring parts inventories and critical parts.
  • Manages and maintains key maintenance inventory

Financial

  • Participates in annual budgeting process for the future purchase of assets and mechanical items
  • Responsible for maintenance budget and expenditures
  • Participates in ongoing purchasing decisions regarding foodservice production equipment
  • Responsible for raising capital cases when required to facilitate senior management decision making

Regulations

  • Ensures adherence to quality and company standards including:
  • Health & safety programs
  • Legislative requirements
  • SQF and HACCP
  • CFIA requirements
  • Responsible for reporting and addressing food safety issues

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience servicing and maintaining equipment
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills combined with strong organizational skills
  • Flexible - Able to work well under pressure
  • Previous supervisory or management leadership experience
  • Ability to lead & motivate
  • Familiarity with SQF and HACCP
  • Financial and administration experience
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Valid class forklift licenc
  • Ideally completion of post secondary education (P. Eng or equivalent) and at least 3 years experience in a maintenance leadership role or
  • A certified millwright with at least 5-10 years equivalent experience in a maintenance/engineering leadership role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
