                        Legislative Compliance and Access Control Specialist
                                           ASSOCIATION OF BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS (NON-UNION EMPLOYEE GROUP)
                                                                                     12 Month-FULL TIME POSITION
                                 Catholic Education Center (5200 Wellington Rd. S, London, ON N6E 3X8)
 
 Reporting to the Manager of Building Services, the Legislative Compliance and Access Control Specialist is responsible for managing, monitoring, updating, tracking, and coordinating all administrative duties related to legislative compliance, access control and safety.  This position will provide professional support related to the board’s compliance with current legislative requirements, policies, and standards. This includes staff training, direction, and supervision of applicable processes. Regular visits to schools are required.

Qualifications and Skills required: 
  • Minimum three (3) years degree in a related field such as Construction/Architectural or environmental science
  • Experience with Ministry legislative compliance
  • Minimum three (3) years of working experience in a related field
  • Field experience with industry-standard water collection and sampling protocols
  • Experience in administering access control systems
  • Experience liaising with outside agencies including Ministries, building officials, fire departments, police services, laboratories, and consultants
  • Familiar with Ministry of Education “Safe Schools” initiatives and implementation
  • Experience in emergency planning protocols and best practices
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Able to read, understand and edit blueprint design drawings
  • Understanding and knowledge of current legislation required (i.e., well water, lead water and city Bylaws)
  • Proficient in document management, record keeping, report writing and advanced computer skills
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral and organization skills
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to work effectively within a team and independently
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
Salary range: $70,279 to $79,864 (commensurate with experience)
