Technology Support Specialist, Information Technology Services
Technology Support Specialists are responsible for troubleshooting escalated work requests/calls from Client Support Specialists or directly from hospital staff and physicians. They address complex technical issues that extend beyond the scope of Client Support Specialists and manage small projects related to their area of expertise. They delegate work on a daily operational basis to Client Support Specialists to manage either work queues or project-related tasks. The role includes additional network access privileges or specific application responsibilities that require specialized training. The ability to participate in an on-call rotation is a requirement for the Technology Support Specialist role.
What we offer:
Rate of Pay: $32.33 per hour to $44.46 per hour
Status: Regular Full-Time
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications
- Successful completion of a two (2) year College Certificate in Computer Science, Technology, Computer Networking or related field
- Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience in a high-volume computer support environment
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation environment required
- A+ Hardware Certificate, MCSE or CNA preferred
- Data Centre environment experience preferred
- Advanced problem resolution and decision-making skills
- Advanced customer service and personal interaction skills
- Advanced communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Proficient knowledge of general hardware components, software applications, and networking tools
- Intermediate understanding of project management and project leadership
- Demonstrated knowledge of health care specific computer applications
- Demonstrated advanced technical and analytical skills
- Demonstrated strong organizational, record keeping, and time-management skills
- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and be resourceful
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
