JOB TITLE:
Building Services Technician – Electrician - Job Reference # 202609-01
DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, this position is responsible for:
·Maintaining all building services including HVAC, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, softeners, heaters, etc.
·Performing electrical work as required including maintenance, repairs and installations.
- Performing annual shutdown maintenance and preventative maintenance on all building equipment.
·Completes maintenance work orders and repairs as assigned.
·Obtain cost estimates, oversees and works with contractors in their assigned work.
·Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems in all buildings at the College (i.e. HVAC, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, softeners, heaters, fire systems etc.)
·Responding to after-hours emergency maintenance issues.
·May involve overtime.
·Ability to interact with others in positive ways and develop mutual understanding, respect and productive relationships.
·Working knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations codes and standards.
·Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
·Works well in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision.
·outstanding interpersonal, communications and organizational skills.
·Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·A Journeyman Trade with preference being given to an Electrician with a 309A license.
·Minimum of 2 years previous related experience dealing with a wide variety of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems.
·Working at heights certification.
·Flexibility to be able to respond to emergency maintenance calls.
·Ability to work overtime when required
·Maintain a valid Ontario Drivers' License
TYPE OF JOB:
Permanent full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
EFFECTIVE DATE:
As soon as possible
SALARY RANGE:
SSG40-12 - $74,664 to $90,969, per annum, based on a 40-hour work week
