We are currently hiring a Finisher for a busy metal manufacturing facility. This hands-on production role is responsible for removing excess metal and unwanted material from castings, operating finishing equipment, and supporting daily production targets. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and comfortable working in a physically demanding, hot industrial environment.
Reports To: Manufacturing Manager
Pay Rate: $21.19/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Remove excess metal and unwanted materials from castings using saws, sanding tools, and related equipment
- Operate metal-cleaning and finishing equipment safely and efficiently
- Transport raw materials and finished products using hand tools or material handling equipment
- Inspect parts and perform quality checks according to work instructions and control plans
- Record in-process inspections and test results accurately
- Identify and report product, process, or quality issues to supervisors
- Assist in preventing non-conforming product from moving forward until corrected
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment
- Support team leads or supervisors as needed
- Train or guide other operators on machinery, part-specific processes, and safety procedures when required
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and wear required PPE
Qualifications
- Some secondary school education preferred
- Previous experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, foundry, or industrial production environments considered an asset
- Ability to use hand tools and operate production equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions
- Comfortable completing production paperwork and documenting inspections
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills and willingness to support team operations
Physical / Work Environment
- Ability to lift heavy loads in excess of 20 kg
- Comfortable standing, moving, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Work environment includes noise, flying particles, machinery, and varying indoor temperatures
- Must be able to wear required PPE and work safely in an industrial setting
