About the Role
The Director of Technology & Systems will lead Huron Tractor's technology strategy, business systems, digital transformation, process improvement initiatives, data and reporting, AI adoption, and enterprise-wide technology projects.
This position is about much more than IT.
You'll help shape how work gets done across the organization by improving systems, simplifying processes, enhancing customer experience, supporting our stores, and ensuring technology investments create measurable business value.
Working closely with leaders across Sales, Product Support, Store Operations, Finance, HR, Marketing, IT, and our dealership locations, you'll help position Huron Tractor for long-term growth while maintaining the practical, customer-focused culture that has made us successful.
What You'll Do
As Director of Technology & Systems, you will:
- Develop and execute Huron Tractor's enterprise technology and systems strategy
- Lead digital transformation and continuous process improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities to simplify work, improve customer experience, and eliminate inefficiencies
- Champion responsible AI adoption and workflow automation across the organization
- Oversee business systems including IntelliDealer, Deere platforms, Microsoft technologies, Power BI, CRM, FileBound, ExpertConnect, and other key operational systems
- Partner with business leaders to improve reporting, analytics, and decision-making
- Lead cross-functional technology and business improvement projects from concept through implementation
- Build strong relationships with department leaders, Store Managers, vendors, and technology partners
- Support change management by ensuring new systems are practical, well communicated, and successfully adopted
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the organization.
What Success Looks Like
During your first year, you'll focus on:
- Developing a technology roadmap that supports our long-term strategic objectives
- Identifying high-impact opportunities to improve business processes across departments
- Improving customer communication and inquiry management
- Supporting practical AI implementation and automation initiatives
- Enhancing reporting and business intelligence capabilities
- Building trust with Store Managers and departmental leaders through practical, value-added improvements
- Creating alignment between technology investments and operational priorities.
What You Bring
We're looking for a leader who combines business acumen with technology expertise.
You have:
- Significant leadership experience in technology, business systems, operations, process improvement, or digital transformation
- A proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and organizational change
- Strong understanding of enterprise business systems, reporting, analytics, and process design
- Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience building relationships across multiple departments and locations
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to balance innovation with practical execution
Experience within agriculture, equipment dealerships, manufacturing, distribution, construction, automotive, or other multi-location service organizations would be considered a significant asset.
Experience with Microsoft 365, Power BI, IntelliDealer, Deere systems, CRM platforms, AI technologies, workflow automation, or similar enterprise solutions is necessary.
