London area welding opportunities!
1 year full time hours contract
$28.00-37.00/hrly
Key Job Elements
• Comprehensive knowledge of blueprints and weld symbols
• Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
• Repair and fabricate components using various welding systems
• Read technical documents and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or methods based on task requirements
• Weld components using welding equipment in various positions
• Maintain welding equipment and order weld consumables as required
• As required, operate workshop equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Perform additional tasks as directed
• Work overtime when schedule deadlines mandate
Required Skills
• Valid welding certification
• 3-5 years welding experience
• Ability to weld in all positions
• Strong technical, analytical and communications skills
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical instructions, and drawings
• Proven ability to perform well in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Excellent and fluent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated, reliable, able to work under pressure and multi-task
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience with GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, Carbon arc gouging
• Formal weld training through a vocational or technical school
• Red Seal Journeyman Welder designation
