Teppen Corporation provides sorting/containment, staffing and warehousing support services for our customers in the Automotive Industry in Southwestern Ontario. We have been in business for 16 years are an ISO 9001:2015 accredited company.

Teppen Corporation has a new opportunity for a General Manager of Sorting & Staffing Operations to join our Team at our location in Strathroy, ON. The role will be reporting directly to Board of Directors. This is a full-time position; it is expected that candidates have a minimum of 2-years management experience in Sorting and/or Staffing and minimum 2-years management experience in the Automotive Industry.
We are seeking a confident, motivated and experienced General Manager to join our team! You will be responsible for overseeing daily business activities, improving overall operations and developing strategic plans for the Strathroy division of Teppen Corporation. Conducting organizational reviews of this division to identify strengths and weaknesses and to evaluate effectiveness of the division. This is an opportunity to manage a team of highly motivated sorting and staffing experts within an organization with a proven track record of providing world class solutions for our customers.

The ideal candidate is one who is able to combine years of experience in Sorting/Containment and/or  Staffing in the Automotive Industry, with a proficiency in IT and website development to lead our Strathroy team development for future success.

What you’ll be responsible for:
  • Setup the Sorting/Containment and Staffing critical functions using industry best practices and develop SOP’s for the different functions of the sorting and staffing operations.
  • Hire and manage personnel with the ability to grow and service the business within Strathroy and surrounding territory.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve company systems, website, databases and IT infrastructure.  
  • Work with company leadership to set business growth goals and targets, and work to ensure these targets are actively met. 
  • Maintain quality management system by establishing and enforcing organization standards in accordance with ISO9001:2015
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for revenue recognition, invoicing, and payroll submissions.
  • Increase management’s effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; cultivating a climate for offering information and opinions and providing educational opportunities.
  • Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; and enforcing ethical business practices.
  • Engage employees at all levels to champion health & safety, and to promote a robust zero harm culture.
  • Develops People, Teams, & Culture: Maximizes the potential of individuals, teams, and culture through a targeted investment in coaching, development, and engagement

What we’re looking for:
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of Management Experience in either Sorting/Containment or Staffing Agency Placement
  • Must have minimum of 2 years experience in Magnesium Diecasting, Machining and Hydroforming operations 
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years Automotive Industry management experience
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience managing a workforce of 100+ employees. Duties must have included; people management and development, including but not limited to training, coaching, and discipline
  • Proficient in Wordpress, Adobe Illustrator, HTML, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • College diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to work across all 3 shifts and on Weekends from time to time upon request.
Salary: $57.99/hour
