Summary:

The Receptionist is responsible for a wide variety of clerical office duties in support of the company. This includes coordinating and communicating office activities, greeting and screening visitors, answering and referring inbound telephone calls. The Receptionist will also be responsible for data entry, office and maintenance supplies procurement, inbound/outbound mail and courier distribution and entry level accounting support.This is an ideal role for someone entering the field of accounting.

Job Duties
  • Respond to telephone, e-mail, and in-person inquiries from customers, vendors, and other parties.
  • Refer all inquiries to the appropriate individuals or departments across the organization.
  • Take and record telephone, e-mail, or written messages for staff members.
  • Receive and distribute all forms of paper correspondence.
  • Enter received seed and sown seed details into the relevant database.
  • Create block tags for the required seeding line.
  • Manage office supply inventory and order supplies when needed or requested.
  • Complete propagator’s report.
  • Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations.
  • Administer and manage inbound/outbound mail, including priority post, packages, courier services, and other correspondence.
  • Accept and monitor inbound shipments as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
  • College diploma in office administration, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of direct work experience in a receptionist/administrative assistant capacity.
  • Able to write simple correspondence, including memos, letters, etc.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to maintain filing systems and basic databases.
  • Meticulous records maintenance skills.
  • Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its management team.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
Physical Location/Working Conditions
  • Rural area, own transportation required
  • Office and Greenhouse environment
  • Lifting or moving up to 30lbs may be required
Wage
  • $13-14 per hour, monday through Friday 9am-5pm, 
  • Ability to work holidays and occasional weekends during peak season as required
