As a valued member of our Flatout Family, you will work closely with our customers to determine their needs, answer questions about our products and services and recommend the right flooring solution for their individual or corporate requirements. Whether the interaction takes place in our showroom or in the customer’s home or office, the objective is always to provide both design and flooring advice that will make the customer comfortable and confident with their buying decision.

  • 2 Years Retail Sales Experience (Preferred)
  • 2 Years Flooring Experience (Preferred)
  • Interior Design/Decorating Certificate
  • Class G Driver’s License
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday and part-time Weekends
  • Experience with CAD - based software is an asset

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  •  
  • Deliver exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process from initial contact through to project completion
  • Develop strong and sustainable relationships with new clients: home builders and property development companies
  • Assist new-build clients in selecting the right flooring solution, providing accurate information on product features, pricing and after-sales service
  • Explain the steps and products needed to complete projects while highlighting the features and benefits of merchandise
  • Measure the project by performing in-home/onsite measurements and providing accurate and clearly detailed quotations to builders
  • Order products and manage inventory
  • Communicate with internal management and external sources, ensuring project deadlines are met and installers are prepared
  • Successfully handle any potential concerns which may arise and resolve them in a timely and effective manner
  • Create an overall standardization of procedures which encompasses all the steps from project start to completion
  • Identify specific opportunities and or challenges, develop strategic steps and implement effective solutions with proper communication to management
  • Communicate with clarity and clear articulation to both the client and internal team
  • Research material requirements (finish goods, trims, accessories and installation methods)
  • Complete final cost estimates, incorporating all labour, equipment and material data, pricing documentation, overhead and profit margins
  • Keep apprised to all products carried, benefits and warranties as well as flooring and design trends
  • Maintain the showroom environment by keeping samples and displays neat, current and clean
  • Assist with other divisions of the business as needs and time permits
  • This position reports to the President as well as the General Manager
