Position Overview
- Applies theoretical understanding and practical knowledge of operations, repair procedures, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to support facility equipment reliability
- Planning of shutdown work to maximize equipment utilization
- Sourcing and managing contractors for all maintenance related activities as required
- Assistance with project management of new equipment or facility expansion
- Oversees, improves upon and implements a robust preventative maintenance system, working closely with operations staff
- Develop and maintain all relevant equipment maintenance SOPs in conjunction with operation’s staff
- Oversee all maintenance and operational related activities of the Security Systems
- Oversees and maintains support and production equipment including air compressor, heaters, chillers, pumps, extractors, distillation equipment, HVAC
- Assists with general facility maintenance internal and external to production areas
- Sets front-line performance standards providing coaching and feedback to build capability and improve performance
- Leads spare part management to ensure minimal downtime as a result of unplanned maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2 -3 years demonstrated experience managing projects, coordinating contractors/vendors
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Operations Management or Project Management (PMP certification an asset)
- Tech savvy – ability to write SOP’s, reports and using standard software (MS Office)
- Organized and process driven, ensuring proper and prompt documentation and attention to detail
- 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical equipment, spare parts and risk mitigation
- Strong planning, analytical, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead meetings with operations staff to maximize preventative maintenance “buy-in”
