The Role
As a Bartender at Bellamere, your primary responsibility is to help us ensure our weddings and events go off without a hitch! This means you:
- Act as a welcoming and gracious host to all guests and team members
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests and team members
- Serve beverages to guests according to Bellamere’s guidelines and specifications
- Prepare and close bar in accordance with Bellamere’s bar standards
- Clear/clean tables according to Bellamere’s guidelines and specifications
- Support with preparatory tasks and side work duties to ensure all guests are served promptly and efficiently
- Be familiar with standard bar rail, mixed beverages or speciality beverages for the assigned function, including guest allergies
- Respond quickly to guest problems, complaints or accidents, communicating with the Banquet Captains as needed
- Protects Bellamere and it’s guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
- Understand proper drink and wine service, monitoring beverage consumption and addressing issues of intoxication using Smart Serve knowledge and communicating with Banquet Captains
- Support with other duties as may be required
What you bring to the table
- Availability to work mid-week, weekends, evenings and holidays
- Reliable transportation to and from Bellamere
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year of serving, bartending or related experience
- Smart Serve Certification
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A willingness to learn and an openness to feedback, coaching and mentorship
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all staff
- Able to work in a predominately standing position for long periods of time
- Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food or dishes when necessary
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes following Bellamere’s uniform policies
- Previous experience in the food and beverage industry is a bonus, but not required!
