Job Description

This position plans, implements and participates in the development of an inclusive program to enhance the children’s overall development and provide a safe and healthy environment in accordance with OCCC philosophies, legislative requirements and How Does Learning Happen?    Regular and ongoing communication and consultation with the Team Leader, co-workers and families is required.  It is expected that all staff conduct themselves professionally and respect their responsibilities.  

This position is located at our garderie francophone du comté d'Oxford location.  A bilingual (French/English) candidate will be given priorty in the recruitment process.

Oxford Community Child Care is a not for profit, charitable organization serving Oxford County and surrounding area since 1987.  We are a multi-service organization offering early learning, child care and family programs for children and families from birth to age 12.


HOURS:
Full Time, 35 hours per week
Shifts will vary to accommodate the needs of the service; must be available for all shifts
Evenings and weekends may be required for staff meetings, special events, professional learning
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
ECE diploma and registration with College of ECE’s (preferred)
1 years experience preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply!
Knowledge, understanding and commitment to How Does Learning Happen?, Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years
Current StandardFirst Aid and CPR
A clean Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Persons Screen after an offer of employment is accepted.
French speaking/bilingual given priority
                           
SKILLS:    
Organized with excellent interpersonal skills
Strong child engagement skills 
Able to plan and implement programming for children
Able to make thoughtful decisions  
Regular lifting of up to 40lbs is required.
