With great pleasure, Prime Management Group Inc. is pleased to be partnering with Start.ca in the exciting search effort for an engaging, experienced, and proven Controller to join their progressive, forward-thinking team.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for the effective oversight of all aspects of the accounting department including; accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budget management, and regulatory and financial reporting.
This highly collaborative and integrity-based Controller will plan, direct, and coordinate the accounting/operational functions for the company, while proactively assessing all current accounting operations and processes with a progressive lens for potential improvements. This proven financial leader will have accountability for budget preparation, coordination of the year end audit, maintenance of internal control procedures, preparation of monthly financial statements, and the preparation/review of monthly general ledger reconciliations for all G/L accounts.
Finally, the Controller will review, analyze, and ensure compliance for government filings while remaining current with all federal, provincial, and other regulatory requirements. With an attention to detail, this financial professional will review and update financial policies and procedures while maintaining all corporate accounting systems.
To qualify for this exciting opportunity, the successful candidate will present with 7 plus years of hands-on financial leadership experience, coupled with a Canadian Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation, and a relevant university degree in Finance and/or Accounting. This proven financial leader will be a strong communicator and collaborator with exceptional interpersonal, critical thinking, and time management skills to effectively lead all daily accounting functions for the company.
The preferred candidate will have previous management experience and possess a strong understanding of current accounting standards and practices and have demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with standard accounting software packages.
