Nature and Scope of the Position:
The position reviews medical documents to produce comprehensive written and edited, complex, forensic medicolegal reports. The individual ensures that all content produced for reports is accurate, timely, clear and relevant, and that all specifics have been appropriately corroborated and validated by documentation in the file.
The position reviews medical documents to produce comprehensive written and edited, complex, forensic medicolegal reports. The individual ensures that all content produced for reports is accurate, timely, clear and relevant, and that all specifics have been appropriately corroborated and validated by documentation in the file.

- extensive experience with Microsoft Office products
- forensic investigative mindset
- knowledge of medical and legal terminology an asset
- experience with use of citations
- experience using bibliographical database
- ability to work independently
- Review and edit independent evaluations and medical legal briefs:
- review the contents of a claimant’s medical file
- produce a comprehensively written and edited medicolegal report with assistance of evaluators (nurse, physician, etc.)
- substantiate and verify the data provided from the claimant’s evaluation
- determine missing documentation which is important and relevant
- describe and elaborate on injuries and illnesses documented in the medical reports
- organize the report according to the preferred style guidelines;
- ensure that all content produced for the Report is accurate, and clear
- Final Edit:
- work with professional staff in order to finalize the report
- Education/Research:
- assist, when appropriate and requested, with special projects such as symposia, lectures, policy writing and analysis, research and data collection for scholarly articles and books
This position is part-time but will gradually increase to full-time. The candidate must be available to work some evenings and weekends, Work will be a combination of onsite and remote.
