Vanier Children’s Mental Wellness is a not-for-profit organization that has been serving children and families in London and Middlesex for over 50 years. As the lead agency for children’s mental health in London Middlesex, Vanier offers a range of services for infants, children, and youth (up to 14 years old) and their families. Our programs and services are designed to provide mental health support to families who have a child struggling with social, emotional, behavioural, and mental health issues.    We currently recruiting for a new position of Registered Dietitian.  We are excited about this new opportunity and look forward to this addition to the Vanier team.   The dietary needs of the children within our programs are important and this position will play an essential role in supporting their wellbeing.

Position Summary:

As a Clinical Dietitian you will be responsible for the nutritional assessment and management of Vanier clients. This position reports to the Program Supervisor.     

Primary responsibilities include the assessment of nutritional status/nutritional needs, and the development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans to meet these needs in a client and family centered model of care. To provide these services, the Clinical Dietitian will collaborate with other health care providers and function as a key member of the interdisciplinary team.

Education/Training/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics or nutrition, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3 months – 2 years’ experience
  • Advanced knowledge of principles, processes, and practices in Dietetics and/or nutrition.
  • Ability to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for nutritional needs based on individual client requirements.
  • Excellent ability to manage high-stress or highly emotional situations in pursuance of positive outcomes.
  • Proficient with PC operation, including word processing, spreadsheets, and case management software.
  • Excellent oral communication and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and able to execute decisions efficiently.
  • Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Membership in Dietitians of Canada, preferred
  • Red Cross First Aid/CPR
  • Hours of work – this is a new role and weekly hours can be negotiated (between 24 – 35 hrs. per week)
