Job Description

                                                                          Permanent -twelve (12) month- position

This position provides administrative support within the Catholic Education Center to the public and various departments, they are responsible for information exchange where applicable as they are the first person to greet and communicate to all community stakeholders and staff either by telephone or in-person, providing resolution and support where possible. The role involves the utilization of telecommunications with an exceptionally high level of effective communication and organizational skills. This position will be required to lead purchasing requirements for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and sanitation/cleaning supplies for our Board related to ministry directives. This will include ordering, reporting, coordinating, and shipping supplies. This position will also participate in project-based assignments to support both the Learning Services and Building Services departments. Mail sorting and distribution functions are also required. Additionally, this role will actively support summer student registrations and will maintain updated information as required in the Student Information System.
This position reports to the Admissions, Privacy & Records Management Supervisor. Hours of work will be arranged with the supervisor according to the collective agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ontario Secondary Diploma required
  • Post Secondary training in Office Administration or equivalent is preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Outlook email
  • Experience using a variety of technological equipment and communication programs
  • Previous experience using a multi-line switchboard system
  • 2 years experience in an administrative role in an office environment, with considerable customer service experience.
  • Experience working with a school board or publicly funded employer is an asset.
  • Previous experience working in a role which included a reception and/or purchasing duties.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a cooperative team
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be tactful, respectful, and polite when dealing with individuals
  • Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the position
  • Possess an understanding and appreciation of Catholic Education and the mission of the London District Catholic School Board

Salary range: $22.64 - $25.67 (commensurate with experience)
SALARY GRID PLACEMENT WILL BE DETERMINED CONSISTENT WITH THE PAY EQUITY AGREEMENT
