Job Summary: The student will interact and engage with Nokee Kwe’s diverse client population. They will conduct effective intake assessments and subsequent counselling sessions. They will write rationales for assisted client service, complete required documentation/paperwork, develop client notes, assist the client with setting next steps, provide agency referrals as needed, enter data in a data-base, create client hardcopy files, follow filing process, write reports, attend case conferences and team meetings, conduct client/agency follow-up, advocate, assist clients with document completion and digital technology, co-facilitate workshops, support reconciliation with Indigenous clients. They will learn and apply facilitation skills/techniques, solicit feedback for improvement, and be able to discuss all Nokee Kwe’s programs and services in a competent manner. They will provide weekly reports. This is a Canada Summer Jobs Funded Position for a period of 16-weeks @ 37.5 hours/week. Rate of pay is $14.25/hour. Eligible Students must be: (a) between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment; (b) a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and (c) legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations. *International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents. |
