The function of the Design Consultant is to coordinate the interior & exterior selections for new homes and renovations, while professionally directing and advising new home purchasers on their design choices in a manner that reflects positively on the reputation of Hayhoe Homes. 

The Design Consultant will be the primary point of contact from the working drawing review meeting to the Pre-Delivery Inspection and must be able to respond effectively and accurately to a wide range of purchaser questions. The Design Consultant will also be responsible for the planning, staging and moving of quick possession homes and presentation centres.

The Design Consultant shall perform these duties, and any other assigned tasks that support the VP of Sales and Marketing, with minimal direction and should possess the following attributes:

A basic knowledge of the residential building market and construction industry is required along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineer drawings, electrical plans, construction detail drawings, and material specifications.

The ability to effectively & clearly understand, describe and document design features or selections to establish the product/resource requirements needed to achieve the selected design features and to ensure that they are implemented to meet client expectations.

Must be an outgoing & professional individual who is comfortable meeting new people and being in unfamiliar situations.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to instill confidence, a sense of care, and inspire trust through confident presentation at meetings with purchasers of all ages & price points, and in addressing questions/concerns throughout the build process.

Proficiency in such computer programs as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Standard (or similar software) and Video Conferencing software such as Zoom, Google Meets) is also required.
