Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides support to the Staff Relations team to foster a positive and pro-active employment environment. Key duties include co-ordinating personnel records management and providing statistical information for a variety of reporting, strategic planning and other purposes. The Co-ordinator will assist in staff recruitment, provide guidance to leaders and staff regarding University policies and collective agreements and coordinate large client meetings sponsored by Human Resources, including technical and administrative activities.   Additional responsibilities include eRecruit facilitation, project coordination, meeting facilitation, and general operational support. Human Resources delivers exemplary employment related services to faculty, staff, students and retired employees.  Up to 25 teams and committees are facilitated by human resources to develop proactive human resources strategies and you will be an integral part of this facilitation.  You will be accountable for being innovative, using technology and developing collaborative relationships to provide the best experience to the clients HR supports.
 

Qualifications:

- A University degree, with a preferred major in Administrative and Commercial Studies (or BMOS)
- CHRP designation or working toward this designation is preferred
-At least 2 years experience in a Human Resources Assistant (or equivalent) role, with exposure to human resource business processes
- Knowledge of various employment related legislation such as Employment Standards, OHSA, Human Rights Code and Labour Relations Act
-Superior client relationship and service skills (both verbal and written) and strong active listening skills.
-Demonstrated ability to multi-task, probe, analyze and problem solve complex issues and make recommendations for solutions
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, but must have sound judgement in deciding when to refer issues or consult others for advice
-Demonstrated prioritization, organization, time management, project planning and follow-up skills
-Adherence to the principles of confidentiality
-Extensive experience with all aspects of MS Office, web based systems, and databases; experience with Peoplesoft is preferred
