As a Meter Reader with London Hydro you will work under the direction of the Supervisor Utility Data & Billing Services, or designate, to locate, identify, read and collect data from meters in the field.

Job Duties

• Access meters to obtain final readings, verify readings, monitor and record readings including interval meters, and to confirm meter numbers.
• Report any irregularities in metering, meters or safety conditions.
• Investigate mixed meters and report findings.
• Ensure customer keys are secure while in possession and when returned to London Hydro.
• Enter Industrial and Commercial properties to obtain readings, reset and reseal meters.
• Make appointments with customers to gain access to commercial or residential properties.
• Inspect sites and report findings for rate reclassifications.
• Pick up customer keys and have duplicated when necessary.
• Adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety Act rules and regulations, the E&USA rule book and London Hydro work practices

Essential Qualifications

Your profile as the qualified Meter Reader we seek will include the following strengths:

• Proficiency using personal computers including excellent Word and Excel skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability and initiative to work on your own.
• Valid Class G driver’s licence.
