POSITION:

PROGRAM COORDINATOR

White Oaks Children’s Centre

Permanent, Full-Time

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the organization, administration and planning associated with the school based child care centre at White Oaks Public School. The program offers full day care for children eighteen months to 4 years of age, as well as before and after school care for children 4 to 12 years of age.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Early Childhood Educator Diploma or Degree

  • Proof of membership in good standing in the College of Early Childhood Educators

  • Minimum three years applicable experience

  • Supervisor experience

  • Standard First Aid, including infant and child CPR – Level C

  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check

     

    SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent organizational, administrative, planning, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, as well as a team member

  • Knowledge of the needs and developmental stages of children

  • Knowledge and experience in the emergent curriculum approach to learning

  • Understanding of How Does Learning Happen and the Child Care & Early Years Act

  • Proficient computer skills

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure a family-centred, quality child care program for full-day child care, as well as before and after school programs

  • Provide support and guidance to staff

  • Liaise with the Principals, teachers, administrative staff and custodians

  • Collaborate with the Family Centre Program Coordinator, staff and community partners

  • Liaise with other LCC Program Coordinators and the Accounts Receivable Coordinator

  • Maintain accurate program records

  • Communicate with the Program Manager on an on-going basis

  • Complete additional tasks as required
